It has been difficult for me to write these past few months as there is so much going on and now California is burning!! Well, having lost my home in the 2017 Redwood Complex fire (RWC) I am again triggered by all the loss that is occurring, yet I am hopeful. Resiliency is a key to moving forward and thus I share art, created by a Lake County artist, in response to the 2016 Valley fire, and art I created after the RWC 2017 fire, from debris salvaged from my home. Having been involved in many artistic events since the 2017 fire that promoted healing for my community, I have seen the power of art as a way for people to pick up the pieces and move forward. May we continue to heal ourselves, our communities and our world through the magic and healing of art!!!
